No Personal Information Collected
WinePrep does not collect, transmit, or store your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information. We do not know who you are.
No Account Required
You can use WinePrep without creating an account or providing an email address. There is no sign-in, no profile, and no user database.
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Your progress, study streak, daily goal, and topic preferences are saved locally using iOS's standard UserDefaults storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. You can remove it at any time by deleting the app.
In-App Purchases
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. WinePrep does not handle, store, or have access to any payment or billing information. Apple's privacy policy governs all transaction data.
Analytics
WinePrep uses PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how the app is used — for example, which features are opened, whether a mock exam is completed, or whether the paywall is shown — so we can improve it over time. These events are tied to a randomly generated device identifier, never to your name, email, or any account, since WinePrep doesn't have those. Basic technical information (device type, OS version, app version, and an approximate, non-precise region derived from your network connection) is included automatically. WinePrep does not use this data for advertising, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell or share it with anyone beyond our analytics provider.
Children's Privacy
WinePrep is intended for adults preparing for the WSET Level 2 exam. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised date at the top.
